Starting with an 8 v 1 setup, the possession team must maintain control while the pressing team gradually increases their numbers, escalating the challenge from 8 v 1 up to 8 v 8. If the pressing team wins possession, they aim to combine and play out to a coach or teammate on the outside. 🔥 Pre-Season 102: Carousel into Small Sided Game

This pre-season practice offers a comprehensive workout designed to develop various physical and technical aspects of the game within a 30 by 40-yard area. The session is divided into four engaging zones, each targeting different skills. In zone one, players work on a short technical passing sequence, while zone two focuses on dribbling and sharp turns. Zone three challenges players with one-touch passing, and zone four tests their endurance with shuttle runs. Goalkeepers have a specialised workout in zone one, focusing on high kicks and aerial claims. After a set period, players transition through an agility circuit before returning for an 8 v 4 game, where coaches announce the teams. This practice not only develops individual skills but also emphasises team play and quick transitions, making it an essential part of any pre-season regimen.
