Lets take a look at how we can develop build up play when setup in a 2321 ( 9 v 9 game format ). Here we will develop three different phase 1 patterns of play. Pattern 1 is ‘The Diamond’, Pattern 2 brings the two midfielders into play, creating two side diamonds and a top diamond with the striker and Pattern 3 is called the ‘Lopsided Midfield’. Allow players freedom to play out using these three different base patterns 🙌
