⚽️🔥 Passing & Dribbling Activation | WU-30

It's time to activate your players passing and dribbling in this warmup practice. Working in pairs, players will play one touch passes between the poles before passing across to the next pair to start their run through the circuit. We will progress this to get our players dribbling between the poles individually, ensuring they are ready for the session ahead.💪⚽️

🔥 Developing the Counter Attack | 16-P9

Let's take a look at how to develop quick counter attacks and defensive recovery runs. There are two phases of play to this practice. The first phase involves a quick 2 player attack to finish past the goalkeeper. The second phase of this practice starts as soon as the first ends, with the coach playing the ball to the goalkeeper to trigger the counter attack. Speed of play, decision-making and quality on the ball are key to getting the most out of this practice! 💪⚽️

It's time to develop our phase 1 build up play when setup in a 4231 in this functional practice. The objective is to build up play from the goalkeeper, looking to exploit overloads and play penetrating passes to the attacking midfielder/ player in space and finish in either mini goal. We will implement various rotations, allowing players to get comfortable with the different movements they need to perform to create spaces to exploit. Let's build out from the back with confidence! ⚽️🔥

This practice focuses on developing phase 1 - building out from the back when setup in a 4231. Attackers are restricted to their zones to start, with the objective to play into the target player to set the ball back for a finish in either of the two mini goals. We can progress to bring in rotations and unrestricted movement for the attackers, encouraging them to combine in different ways when building out from the back. Passing quality and off the ball movement are key to excelling in this practice! 🔥⚽️

It's time to activate our players this Monday with this technical passing practice. Working both sides at the same time, players will combine on one and two touches in this sequence, testing their ability to play well weighted and accurate passes. Ensure players are taking good directional first touches where necessary and are keeping the ball close when dribbling down the centre of the area. We have added two progressions to keep your players engaged throughout this one! ⚽️

Hi, I am new here. What is the difference between for example phase 1 and phase 5. I sometimes see this in exercises?

It's time to develop penetrating passes to break the line and exploit overloads to finish in this functional practice. We setup a central grid where 3 players from each team are positioned. The objective is for the team in possession to move the opposition and create gaps to play penetrating passes through for their two attackers. If they are successful with this, the attackers must exploit the 2 v 1 overload and finish past the goalkeeper. High quality passing, off-the-ball movement to create angles to receive and increased ball speed when playing through are key coaching points in this one! 💪 ⚽️
