Hi Chip Smith,

The season plans are split up into seven mesocycles and each mesocycle represents a 6 week block in a season. Each 6 week block is broken down further into one full session a week for each of the 6 phases of play (Phase 1: Begin the Attack, Phase 2: Possession Questions, Phase 3: Finish the Attack, Phase 4: Press to Regain, Phase 5: Organised Defending and Phase 6: Defend the Goal).ย

If you have two/three sessions in a week, you can use any session/practice combination from any of the other mesocycles, depending on which of the phases of play your team needs to focus on in that week.

Our base plan covers each of the phases of play to ensure squads with only one session a week have variety in their training, but you can pull in sessions from other phases for a 2 session training week e.g Session 1: Phase 1:Build Up and Session 2: Phase 4: Press to Regain as these two phases complement each other.ย Let me know if that helps and if you have any questions. ๐Ÿ™Œ

The social aspect is a crucial ingredient when creating sessions for younger age groups - encourage team spirit and fun while developing technical ability and watch your players grow from strength to strength ๐ŸŽ‰

Don't forget to increase/decrease rondo size depending on age group and level - simple changes such as touch limits can also impact the challenge level๐Ÿคย ย

Playing out from the back has a purpose, draw defenders in and exploit the gaps to penetrate by finding free teammates. Passing the ball just for the sake of passing it is not the objective!ย

How would you adapt this practice to suit your teams needs? ๐Ÿค”

If you have 12/18/24 + players available, don't forget you can always create 2/3/4 circuits so all players can work at the same time. Try your best to not have players waiting on the sideline if you can avoid it, especially young players! ๐Ÿค

That was probably the one stain on an amazing football match - even with that, the level of entertainment and quality was great watch.

Tracyย interesting, we have tested this and no other coaches' devices are running into this issue you have mentioned. It seems to be device specific, we will look into this. I hope you have found the coaching content useful ๐Ÿ™Œ

Hi Tracy,

This isnโ€™t something any other coaches have mentioned so far, so it may be device or version-specific. I use the app each day myself and have never run into this issue - it will be a great resource for the coaches at your club! As a first step, could you try updating the app to the latest version (if you havenโ€™t already) and see if the issue still persists? If it does, please let us know. ๐Ÿ™Œ
