🔥 NEW SESSION RELEASE: Possession to Penetrate
If your team keeps possession well but struggles to break lines and turn control into meaningful attacking opportunities, today’s release is built for you.
Session 991: Possession to Penetrate develops your players’ ability to control the ball with purpose, recognise the right moments to play forward, and attack with intent.
The session begins with a technical passing activation to establish rhythm and passing quality, progresses into a functional practice focused on identifying opportunities to break through defensive lines, and finishes with a game-based practice that links patient possession to quick, purposeful transitions.
Suitable for U15–U17 (minimum 15 players), with each practice working individually or as part of the full session.
👇 New Practices Released:
1️⃣ Technical Passing Activation | Warm Up (WU-50)
2️⃣ Break Out to Penetrate | 99-P9
3️⃣ Possession and Transition to Attack | 48-P11
A complete session to help your players stay composed in possession, recognise moments to penetrate, and attack with greater purpose and intent.

Hi Chip Smith,
The season plans are split up into seven mesocycles and each mesocycle represents a 6 week block in a season. Each 6 week block is broken down further into one full session a week for each of the 6 phases of play (Phase 1: Begin the Attack, Phase 2: Possession Questions, Phase 3: Finish the Attack, Phase 4: Press to Regain, Phase 5: Organised Defending and Phase 6: Defend the Goal).
If you have two/three sessions in a week, you can use any session/practice combination from any of the other mesocycles, depending on which of the phases of play your team needs to focus on in that week.
Our base plan covers each of the phases of play to ensure squads with only one session a week have variety in their training, but you can pull in sessions from other phases for a 2 session training week e.g Session 1: Phase 1:Build Up and Session 2: Phase 4: Press to Regain as these two phases complement each other. Let me know if that helps and if you have any questions. 🙌
