⚽️ Midfield Shape to Stop Penetration (CDM) | 89-P7

In this CDM specific practice, we focus on building a solid midfield to block penetrating passes. The goal is for the two outside teams to pass the ball between each other, while the central team stays compact and aims to intercept. When the central team gains possession, they pass to the end player and switch out with the team that lost the ball. The midfield unit must communicate effectively, recognise moments to intercept and maintain compactness throughout! 💪⚽️

⚽️ Possession to Penetrate | 43-P10

Do your players need help progressing play when in possession? This phase of play practice focuses on this specific aspect of the game. The objective is for the team in possession to combine using the floaters to play through either gate and back through either gate to be rewarded with a goal. Once this occurs, the possession team starts with the ball back in the deep zone. If the defenders win possession, the the two teams switch roles and the ball starts in the deepest zone. Passing quality and accuracy to maintain possession, providing support in front and behind the ball and off-the-ball movement into space created by teammates are key points in this practice! ⚽️💪

⚽️ Switching the Point of the Attack | 83-P12

This advanced lead practice occurs on a full half of the pitch, focusing on developing switching the point of the attack and deliveries into the box for finishing. We will work one group at a time, refining short passing combinations before executing a long switch of play to the winger, who receives on the run and delivers into the box for our attackers to finish unopposed. We incorporate three progressions that introduce active defending in the box and out wide, modify central combinations, and apply opposition pressure in the build-up. 💪⚽️
