Exploit Attacking Overloads in the Final Third | 09-P10

This phase of play practice focuses on developing players' finishing ability in the final third. We use two areas, alternating between them. The coach initiates the drill by passing to the attacking team, triggering a 6 v 4 attack. The objective for the attackers is to combine quickly and create opportunities to finish within an 8-10 pass limit. Once the attack ends, play shifts to the other half for another 6 v 4 attack. If the defending team wins possession, they can pass to their attacking teammates in the other half to trigger a counter-attack. We have two progressions that will keep your players engaged and challenge their decision-making in the final third! 🎉⚽️

↘️ Technical Switches of Play | 83-P4

This technical practice focuses on developing players' ability to switch play effectively. Players will work through a set sequence, combining with short passes before switching play to a teammate making a wide run. The player closest to the receiver will apply passive pressure, challenging the receiver to take a quality first touch to evade them. Two progressions increase the challenge: introducing a second ball and incorporating longer, more direct switches. Mastering these skills is essential for any team looking to dominate possession and exploit space!🔥⚽️

This functional practice sharpens players' finishing skills from various attacking scenarios. It comprises three tactical solutions: 1. Creating space for the attacking midfielder to exploit and score. 2. Winger delivering crosses from out wide. 3. Midfielders combining for shots from outside the box. If defenders win the ball or attackers miss, the three defenders initiate a counterattack and aim to score past the goalkeeper. Let's incorporate additional tactical solutions to keep our players engaged and challenged, ensuring they navigate through diverse attacking scenarios seamlessly!🔥⚽️

🔥 Movement in Behind to Finish | 82-P1

This practice focuses on developing passing combinations to create goal scoring opportunities. Three players execute a set sequence, releasing the winger in behind for a 1 v 1 against the goalkeeper. As players get comfortable, a defender can be introduced, intensifying the challenge for the striker to receive and execute the pass in behind. Precise passes and well-timed movements to stay onside are crucial in mastering this drill.🔥⚽️

🔥 Pass and Move to Receive | 85-P3

This simple technical practice focuses on developing passing and movement to receive. Two players start centrally with the rest starting on the outline of the area. Players will combine in the set combination, focusing on one touch passing and timing their movements to receive. Once players are comfortable, we can introduce an extra 1-2 combination to the sequence to challenge players concentration and passing ability. A great technical practice that can be used as a warm up for your session! 🙌⚽️

🔥 Direct Counter From Deep (Low Block) | 08-P14

This 11 v 11 game takes place on a full-sized pitch and focuses on mastering the low block and executing direct counters from deep. The defending team adopts a 442 low block, while the attacking team lines up in a 433 formation. The attackers will start by building up play swiftly in Phase 1 against only two defending strikers. If defenders win the ball in Phase 2, it sparks a 6 v 7 counterattack. Should defenders regain possession deep in their own half, they seek the two strikers as outlets for a rapid counterattack. Midfielders and wingers provide vital support, bolstering the attack with numerical advantage.
