Hi Rickard Björklund great question, and very common for teams in Sweden.

The key thing to know is the 42-week plan is a development roadmap, not something you must follow week-for-week with the calendar.

Because your outdoor season is shorter, the best approach is to compress the programme, not stretch your season.

April to mid-May (1 session/week)

Work through the key technical foundations at one topic per week. Focus on quality and repetition.

Mid-May to October (2–3 sessions/week)

When your frequency increases, move faster by covering:

2 practices per week (if training twice) or

2–3 practices per week (if training three times)

Priority for U9–U10

Ball mastery and technique

1v1 attacking and defending

Small-sided games

Fun and repetition

It’s completely fine if you don’t finish all 42 weeks in one season. At this age, consistent exposure to key themes matters more than completing the full programme.
