Interesting Matthew Shepherd, yes I think there is some discussion with younger age groups around the effectiveness/appropriateness of the method, especially around the rest periods during the week. Ideally if following this approach with younger groups and Saturday games, there should be a full day's rest on a Wednesday to allow for match prep and recovery. On another note, it's not an approach that we should use with players aged below 13/14, where there is still very much a technical emphasis over the tactical. It would be interesting to see how we could embed hybrid technical / tactical approach with younger groups.
