Coaches, lets look at how we can develop build up play when setup in a 341 ( 9 v 9 game format ). This practice focuses on developing two different phase 1 patterns of play. By repeatedly practicing and comprehending these movements, these patterns will become second nature during actual matches, allowing players to make the best possible decisions depending on how the opposition press them in phase 1. 🤝

Here we will develop build up play when setup in a 343! This practice takes place in a full half of a pitch and focuses on developing 3 different phase 1 patterns of play. Through repetition and understanding of movements, these patterns will become natural when in a game scenario allowing players to assess the different situations they face and play out in the best way possible. 💪🔥

It's time to work on a hugely important aspect of the game: Speed and Endurance. In this pre-season practice, two players will race against each other through the circuit with the objective to maintain their intensity and enter the game area first. The first player inside the area starts with the ball in the 1 v 1 game and must look to use individual skill to beat the defender and finish in the mini goal. Teams must keep a tally of each time they finish and after 3 rounds we can see which team are the winners! 🤝

This pre-season practice focuses on players passing combinations, SAQ and ability to switch play. Split into two areas that run simultaneously, players will work through the various stations and will end the sequence with a winger delivering for two attackers in the box. After the attack finishes, players will move through the agility stations on the side of the area. Ensure players work at a high intensity throughout this practice, using the time at different stations to recover for their next attack. Time movements, deliver passes & crosses with quality and be clinical with finishing! 💪

This pre-season practice is a team relay race that has players dribbling through cones, sprinting, passing and moving through various agility stations. The first team to have all players back at the 1st station wins the race! With the added element of competition, this will increase the intensity and speed that the players will go through the circuit which in turn will increase their overall fitness levels. 💪

This pre-season practice has two zones to focus on different skills. In Zone 1, we'll work on maintaining possession under pressure and Zone 2 will have a circuit to enhance agility and speed. Here's the setup: We have 4 teams of 3 players each, with two teams in each zone. The goal is to maintain a high-intensity level for 3-4 minutes before switching zones. This way, players get to experience both ball work and off-the-ball movements. Remember, putting in the effort during pre-season will pay off later on! 🤝
